After-School Supervised Practice and Clinic Program for Juniors
NOW is the perfect time to enroll your favorite junior (boy or girl) in a fun-filled, dynamic program for beginning and experienced golfers. This new after-school supervised practice and clinic program will help junior participants learn new skills and continue to improve on existing fundamentals.
The program is designed to prepare juniors for the upcoming 2018 spring, summer, high school and middle school golf seasons. The skills training work (and play) a golfer does today, will create lasting performance gains in 6 months as the player “owns” the skill, and no longer has “to think” about learning new movement patterns.
Mastering golf skills is a lengthy process that requires patience. Confidence is earned by testing skills under pressure and discovering the personal strengths and weaknesses that emerge from that testing. Observation of desired and undesired outcomes help the student and coach make beneficial adjustments. Students (and parents alike) must develop a love of the learning and practice process to enjoy the rewards that come with incremental success. Successful golfers must learn to develop mental toughness, resilience, and fortitude that is necessary to realize long term improvement.
During the training periods Myra Blackwelder will work with students and/or discuss the following topics: Full-Swing, Driver, Distance Control Wedges, Chipping Touch and Strategy, Putting, Routines, Mirror Drills, Rules, College Recruiting Insight and Resume Preparation, Stretching, Tournament Scheduling and more.
The class is structured with fun and learning in mind, utilizes personal and group interaction, and includes playing competitive games that juniors love!
